  are beautiful, personalized keepsake journals celebrating the transition from only child--or younger sibling--to older sibling.
• Baby Science: How Babies Really Work, by Ann Douglas.
  A delightful book for curious preschoolers, full of interesting information and colorful about the ins and outs of babies.
• Giving Birth, by Mary M. Kalergis.
  A beautiful collection of photographs which can be used by parents to prepare their children for attending the birth of a sibling.
• The New Baby, by Mercer Mayer.
  This is a terrific book for 2-6 year olds.
• I'm a Big Brother (I'm a Big Sister), by Joanna Cole.
  This is a sweet, gender-specific book for young children.
• Julius, The Baby of the World, by Kevin Henkes.
  An absolutely hilarious book for kids and adults alike. It starts out a bit negative, but has a very sweet ending. We like it a lot for children over 4 years.
• Why Do We Need Another Baby?:, by Cynthia MacGregor, David Clark (Illustrator).
  A really lovely book.
• The New Baby, by Fred Rogers.
  A picture book for young children (2-5 years) that models both breast and bottle feeding (we like that!)
• The New Baby at Your House, by Joanna Cole.
  A terrific book for 3-6 year olds. Make sure you get the updated edition which has color photographs.
• My New Baby and Me: A First Year Record Book for Big Brothers and Sisters, by Dian G. Smith.
  An activity book that we really like, for 4-8 year olds.
• We Have a Baby,by Catherine Falwell.


• Our New Baby,by Wendy Cheyette Lewison.
  Another book for toddlers.
• 101 Things To Do With A Baby, by Jan Ormerod.
  For 4-8 year olds.
• Waiting for Baby, by Harriet Ziefert.
  This is a lovely, very upbeat book that gives young children some sense of how long it takes for the baby to arrive.
• A Child is Born, by Lennart Nilsson.
  Graphic photos of life before birth and of the birth itself. A good addition to your library for curious siblings, especially for those who will attend the birth.

• Twice Blessed, by Joan Leonard.
  Helping suggestions for adjusting and some good ideas for preserving your marriage under the stress of a second child.
• Medications and Mother's Milk, by Thomas W. Hale.
  An informative book for breastfeeding moms who are concerned about which medications may affect their baby.
• From One Child to Two: What to Expect, How to Cope and How to Enjoy your Growing Family, by Judy Dunn.
  A good overall look at the changes.
• Welcoming Your Second Baby, by Vicki Lansky.
  Some nice ideas.
• And Baby Makes Four: Welcoming A Second Child Into the Family, by Hilory Wagner.
  Covers many different areas, but not much detail.
• Your Second Pregnancy: What to Expect This Time, by Katie Tamony.
  Deals mainly with the physical changes of a second pregnancy.
• Pregnancy Stories: Real Women Share the Joys, Fears, Thrills, and Anxieties of Pregnancy from Conception to Birth.
  Women speak for themselves about pregnancy, childbirth and the early postpartum period.
